A Sunny Sunday

A Sunny Sunday

I wasn’t going to get up for church yesterday morning. I was tired and have to rest up for my spinal surgery one week from today, but at the last minute I washed my face, put my hair in a side bun, and put on my dress and went. I’m so glad I did. The message was on
1 Corinthians:12:12.

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.

And how each part [person] has a God-given purpose within the Body of Christ. And God spoke to me in my heart about starting a women’s ministry (similar to the ones I used to attend in the 90s).

They handed out a sheet you could check off different ministries you wished to help out with. So I turned it over and wrote a proposal of sorts, completely off the cuff.

I didn’t really hear what the preacher was saying this morning. But, you know what? That’s 100% ok! Because, I was listening to God.

The pastor also declared, ” This isn’t part of the sermon this morning: Someone in here, you’ve been struggling. I don’t know who you are, but you are in here this morning; you are healed in the Name of Jesus Christ. I don’t know who you are, but You are Healed, in Jesus’ Name!”

Now, we are not a really conservative church, nor are we overly flamboyant (for lack of a better word) either. While things like this do happen, it is exceedingly rare.

And I found myself praying, Oh Father God, let it be me. Please let it be me.

Then we came home, and I took off my pretty dress, and I set to work. I did over 2 hours of housework this afternoon!!! Phenomenal!

Now I don’t know if it was truly me who the message of healing was for, but riding the wave of the Holy Spirit’s filling this morning certainly helped me cross a few huge things off my “Pre-Surgery HoneyDo List”, and so to Him I give all glory and honour. Praise be to the Lord.

We sang a song yesterday morning. A song that spoke to me so much that I had to stop singing to write down the words. It’s called Jesus, by Chris Tomlin. It went like this:

Jesus

There is a truth older than the ages
There is a promise of things yet to come
There is one born for our salvation
Jesus

There is a light that overwhelms the darkness
There is a kingdom that forever reigns
There is freedom from the chains that bind us
Jesus, Jesus

Who walks on the waters
Who speaks to the sea
Who stands in the fire beside me
He roars like a lion
He bled as the lamb
He carries my healing in His hands
Jesus

There is a name I call in times of trouble
There is a song that comforts in the night
There is a voice that calms the storm that rages
He is Jesus, Jesus

Who walks on the waters
Who speaks to the sea
Who stands in the fire beside me
He roars like a lion
He bled as the lamb
He carries my healing in His hands
Jesus

Messiah
My Savior
There is power in Your name
You’re my rock and my redeemer
There is power in Your name
In Your name

You walk on the waters
You speak to the sea
You stand in the fire beside me
You roar like a lion
You bled as the lamb
You carry my healing in Your hands

You walk on the waters
You speak to the sea
You stand in the fire beside me
You roar like a lion
You bled as the lamb
You carry my healing in Your hands
Jesus

Seemed healing was the subplot of the morning.

May you each know the love of Jesus and feel his presence in your life as I did that morning.

~Blessings~
